Week three of season 14 of the popular ABC TV dance contest brought on the tears as contestants poured out their hearts from memorable moments of their lives. It was a moving show and was shown in their steps as they danced their way through the emotions. Never before has the crowd, the audience, the contestants and the judges shown so much emotion before and after the dances. The contestants were driven by their emotions and it showed in their dancing.
First up this week was Jack and Anna. Jack shares his passion about learning he had a daughter last year after a show. The song chosen for their Samba was a tribute to her. She was cheering on Jack and Anna as he hugged her at the end of the dance. Len was pleased with the rhythm in Jack’s hips, Bruno said he has improved, and Carrie Ann praises his performance for a total of 24 points for the night.
Next up was Maria and Derek as Maria tells about growing up in poverty. She told of always looking for a chance to play the song “Material Girl” as they choose it for their gently flowing Rumba. Carrie Ann thinks she is an exquisite dancer, Len loves her intensity, and Bruno likes the sensuality the most as they pull in a 27 for the night’s performance.
Gladys and Tristan danced in the third spot as Gladys talks about how she learned for Sam Cooke as she dances her elegant Foxtrot to his “cupid.” Carrie Ann thinks Gladys has improved, Len liked the flow for the couple, and Bruno loved the way she holds her arms and agrees that she is better this week as the two pull out 24 points from the judges. Wednesday’s episode of American Idol held some surprises for everyone. The atmosphere was more friendly, and though the pressure is on for the final eight to perform even better, these contestants seemed to enjoy themselves more.
J Lo seemed to be a little more peppy, and she dressed to suit the 80s theme the contestants had to sing from. She seemed to enjoy most of the song choices, many probably having come from her youth.
The camera panned in on DeAndre Brackensick sitting in the audience, his spot for the beginning of his performance. If you have ever wondered how people in the audience are chosen for a minute of fame, it’s because they are chosen by Nigel Lythgoe. Lythgoe is the executive producer for the show. To get someone on TV, he simply points them out, and the camera follows.
The camera got a shot of Elise Testone getting ready for her performance by shaking her shoulders out. While she is preparing herself, she gets a sample of Ryan Seacrest, as he shows off his falsetto. Read the rest of this entry »
